Intellectual property rewards people for developing new ideas and products. But the resulting monopolies restrict the opportunities for others to be productive. Intellectual property functions as enclosures of the creative commons. We would do better to employ incentives in the form of prizes for people who expand our knowledge. Moderator: Marty Rowland
